Creative Relaxation Intervention for the Anxious Adult Client

This experiential training will explore the use of several creative relaxation interventions to assist adult clients in accessing internal relaxation resources, and teach exercises/activities to the therapist to use in assisting the adult client with anxiety reduction and self-empowerment. Presenter will explore creating the container, working with the breath, guided imagery and visualization, use of senses, creating resource states, and mindfulness/meditation basics. Specific interventions for adult client therapy will be reviewed with detailed explanation of and experiential opportunities for participants.
 
Objectives:
1.     Explore the use of creative relaxation techniques to use with adults clients in therapy.. 
 
2.     Identify several different types of relaxation interventions and explain how they can be used in a therapeutic counseling session.
 
3.     Learn and experience specific relaxation interventions that can be used for anxious adult clients in therapy.
 
4.     Receive resources to take away and begin using immediately with your adult clients.
 

 
 
Creative Interventions for Stuck Adult Clients and Therapists

This creative, experiential training will explore reasons why creative interventions can be so effective; teach several different creative treatment interventions; and equip the therapist with experience that will lead to confident use of creative interventions with their adult clients.  Presenter will present from an integrated, multi-sensory perspective, exploring creative interventions such as play and sand tray, guided imagery/visualization, genograms/relational work, body-centered approaches, energy work, and written and expressive arts - with emphasis on how to successfully use these interventions in sessions with your adult clients.  Client resistance and how to work with that resistance to achieve client engagement will be discussed. Specific interventions for adult client therapy will be reviewed with detailed explanation of and experiential opportunities for participants.
